Out and Proud: 5 Years Young

My Hollywood Pride was born from the advocacy work of the Hollywood LGBTQ+ Council, a community-led organization founded in 2019 to unite LGBTQ+ residents, advocate for equity, and foster inclusion across all aspects of life in the City of Hollywood. Since then, the Council has grown to represent over 2,000 members and continues to lead initiatives that uplift LGBTQ+ voices in government, business, and civic life.

On January 22, 2022, the Council proudly produced the inaugural My Hollywood Pride festival — a first-of-its-kind event that quickly gained recognition across Florida and beyond. Following the overwhelming success of the event, My Hollywood Pride, Inc. was formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to produce the festival annually, with continued leadership and vision from the Council and our all-volunteer planning committee.

As the first Pride festival of the year anywhere in the world, we proudly declare that Pride Starts Here — right in the heart of Hollywood, Florida.

In 2026, we celebrate our fifth year — a powerful milestone that reflects how far we’ve come, and how boldly we continue to grow. With our official move to Arts Park at Young Circle, we’re expanding our reach, creating even more space for community, culture, and connection.

We are deeply proud that this grassroots event is produced entirely by volunteers — individuals with full-time careers, families, and leadership roles across South Florida, who work year-round to build something truly special. Every dollar raised through sponsorship or donations supports the production of the festival and the ongoing work of the Hollywood LGBTQ+ Council — not administrative overhead.
